All Who Wander
The name of the exhibit is “All Who Wander.” It is at the Studio 7 Gallery in Fort Tilden, Queens. Finally – one of my paintings in an art exhibit!
Interestingly, I needed to submit three paintings and the one they chose is the one that took the least amount of time. That harkens back to a lesson my painting teacher taught me – just let it flow and don’t think too much.
This is the painting – I call it Retiring Dreamscape. Several people asked what I was thinking of when I painted it, but I want the viewer to decide what it says to him or her.

The opening of the exhibit was fun. I met other artists whose work I admired, and we talked about the art. We also talked about selling our art which is much harder to do!
What I relearned, and have to keep relearning, is to go with the flow and just paint – or just live. I keep trying to apply that to life in general – it’s hard. I get stressed out easily, especially at today’s harried pace where it seems the word disrespect can easily describe how we treat others. Maybe we focus on the good, go with the flow and life gets easier.
