Don’t think too much

I’ve not been painting over the Summer as I do more outdoor things; but I am now restarting that activity and recently attended a class with a wonderful instructor who gives feedback and constructive thoughts!

While I was struggling with part of the painting, I made a comment that if I think too much about what I’m doing, it doesn’t go as well. We then talked about having your painting flow. So tonight, I was thinking about the painting below which I recently completed. It’s called Colorful Desolation.

The way this painting came about was through experimentation with color combinations. Then the ideas flowed, and this is the result.

Right now, life has been especially challenging and stressful. But as others say, whether it be our art or life, let it go! That’s a hard thing for me to do. Ihave issues with trust. Maybe my art will teach me how to do that. Look what happened when I wasn’t even really trying.
